It’s the City of Lights vs. the City that never sleeps. It’s history vs. hustle-and-bustle. It’s reserved chic vs. designer everything. Paris and New York are both epicenters of their countries and responsible for many of our daydreams about summer holidays and shopping. Comparing these two cities seems almost impossible… like comparing stilettos with pumps – you need both to survive in style!
But thanks to this artist we don’t have to struggle to compare these two beauties anymore… he has found a way to show you exactly how they differ! We came across this artist via our current obsession My Luscious Life . The idea behind these illustrations as described on their website: “A friendly visual match between two cities told by a lover of Paris wandering through New York. Details, clichés, contradictions: This way, please.”

Here are some of our favourite words on these two memorable cities:
“America is my country and Paris is my hometown.” Gertrude Stein
“Good Americans, when they die, go to Paris.” Thomas Gold Appleton
“I go to Paris, I go to London, I go to Rome, and I always say, 'There's no place like New York. It's the most exciting city in the world now. That's the way it is. That's it.”Robert De Niro
“If I look at it, it's about being able to get lost in New York, to explore the city, to have more personal stories about New York, although some could also take place in Paris.” Keren Ann
“Paris is always a good idea.” Audrey Hepburn
