Choc-o-Fashion

November 2011

British actress and comedian Dawn French once said, “There are two types of women: Ones who like chocolate and ones who are complete bitches.” We are happy to say that we definitely fall into the “those who like chocolate” category! With chocolate very rarely out of our minds we recently spotted quite a few chocolate meets fashion meets blogging scenarios that had us salivating and running to the vending machine for the mid-afternoon munchies.

First up, the Scandybars tumblr. The name says it all; they cut all sorts of chocolates and sweets in half, scan them in and post the treat to their Tumblr blog. The result is quite intriguing – here are some of our favourite scandybars.

Kate Spade – a regular fav on our blog – launched a range of quirky chocolate inspired bags and clutches. The Cha Cha chocolate clutch looks like a wrapped choccie, the bon bon shopper is a choc-o-holic’s dream and they even teamed up with famed chocolatier Mariebelle for a limited edition box of choccies complete with Kate Spade insignia.

Chocolate also took to the catwalk in Paris recently during the French capital’s chocolate fair. “The fashion show marked the beginning of the 17th Salon du Chocolat at Porte de Versailles in Paris - a yearly trade fair for the international chocolate industry,” says The Daily Mail.

“After about 20 years of marriage, I'm finally starting to scratch the surface of what women want. And I think the answer lies somewhere between conversation and chocolate,” Mel Gibson.

So beummd I missed it.  It looks incredible.  I have to say, I think all that chocolate might be a bit much.  But I’m all about traditional high tea.
