We all know her as part of the hit UK girl group Girls Aloud, and possibly for her turbulent marriage to English soccer player Ashley Cole, but recently Cheryl Cole has gone from British star to international star thanks to Simon Cowell taking his X-factor TV show to American shores and making Cheryl one of the judges. After it was announced Cheryl would be part of the show she said: ‘I’m so excited to be taking part in the American version of The X Factor. I absolutely love it in the UK, and with the talent they have out in America, I’m sure we’re going to find someone very special.’ She went on to say that: ‘I can’t wait to get started. I just can’t decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me. He’s tried to beat me for three years in the UK, and hasn’t even come close. His ego must be so bruised. America is gonna love this.’

She’s covered UK Vogue twice and is quickly becoming a fashion trendsetter with her colourful and sexy style wearing designers like Alexander McQueen, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Diane von Furstenberg and Hervé Léger. Often quoted as saying she is a reluctant fashionista, Cheryl is known for taking fashion risks and isn’t afraid of showing some leg. She said to website www.stylist.co.uk fashion started to make sense to her when she realised wearing a pair of high heels makes you feel more womanly. When asked about her perfectly polished persona she said “It’s something that you learn. I’m always with amazing people who do my make-up and hair, then when I go home, I’m like, ‘well she did it like this’, and try and copy what I’ve just seen someone doing. I’m very fortunate, I’m in it. I think women put too much pressure on themselves to look like that girl on TV, when actually if you look five years ago on TV, I didn’t look like that.” We love her no holds barred attitude on her style and image and how she projects a healthy understanding to fame without taking herself too seriously.

In this same interview Cheryl was asked about her one fail safe tip and said “Well you always feel good once you’ve sprayed your hair. The higher the hair the closer to heaven. I would rather have big hair and no make-up on than make-up and flat hair. All the way.” Here’s to seeing lots more of Cheryl and her up-in-the-air hair!
