He’s the quintessential king of sweeping glamour and Oscar de la Renta has managed to stay in fashion for nearly 40 years. His 2012 Resort collection is currently a huge inspiration in our lives and when we saw these magnificent behind the scenes shots on Purseblog our fashion hearts skipped a beat… the shoes, the bags, the jewellery and the dresses… oh the delightful dresses! Glamour has found a home! It’s no surpise the Russian used his de la Renta connections to win over Carrie Bradshaw’s heart with that pink tulip dress in season 6 of Sex and the City.

With words like “I  like light, colour, luminosity. I like things full of colour and vibrant.” Mr. de la Renta’s Resort 2012 collection was all that and more – alive with Picasso inspiration, matador jackets, black and white prints and of course vibrant and energetic colours. Style.com said about the collection “Flouncy gowns in shades of flamenco red, blossom pink, and vivid green will be lighting up dance floors come the holidays. Maybe it's the new address; this de la Renta show was full of life.”
